From Me to You: A Playlist for the Festival Deprived

As you all know, festival season is on full force and this weekend is the first one of Coachella. It’s a shame that I can’t go, but life goes on. Coors Light Indie Fest is also happening this Saturday but you already know what I think of that *raspberry noise*. So I decided to create a Festival worthy playlist incorporating some local acts with some people that I would love to see live. Ch-ch-check it out and dance while sitting down. I am.

Los Petardos – “No Mires pa’ Atrás”

Why on the playlist? Because they’re cool and from the West coast.

Dávila 666 – “Callejón”

Why on the playlist? Because they’re bad ass.

Kavinsky – “Testarossa Autodrive”

Why on the playlist? Because Kavinsky is the shit right now, thanks to Ryan Gosling. I’m kidding.

Grimes – “Oblivion”

Why on the playlist? Because she’s awesome.

At The Drive In – “Arcarsenal”

Why on the playlist? Because everyone’s trying to be them. Stop trying.

Mars Volta – “L’Via L’Viaquez”

Why on the playlist? One of the best prog bands ever and they’re a product of the band above.

The short version if you’re in a hurry:

And the whole song if you’re not. You’re welcome.

Interpol – “Take you on a Cruise”

Why on the playlist? Because their “radio released” songs aren’t their best songs. Interpol fans know that.

Daft Punk – “Da Funk/Daftendirekt” (From Alive 2007)

Why on the playlist? Because every DJ in the world is trying to be them. Stop trying.

Deftones – “Bored”

Why on the playlist? Because they’re the best (and one of the first) band(s) from the Nu metal movement.

Radiohead – “Street Spirit (Fade Out)”

Why on the playlist? Because there’s nobody like them. Hello! It’s Radiohead.

I hoped you enjoyed this playlist as much as I do.

Till the next post guys!! Take care.
