If you guys were checking out the runways back in September you noticed that fifties inspired fashion is making a comeback.

Designers like Marc Jacobs, Miuccia Prada and others are bringing what you could only get at vintage boutiques, your grandmother’s closet, and Etsy to the fashion capitals of the world and beyond. Waist defining dresses, crop top/high-waisted full skirt combinations, below the knee pencil skirts, bandeau and halter tops, twinsets, and amazingly feminine heels are some of the key pieces of this trend. It’s very feminine and also very conservative for these modern times, but that’s the reason why I like this trend so much. Women rely way too much on sexy wardrobe when it comes to attracting the opposite sex. Maybe covering up might attract a different, better kind of guy? Think about it. Sometimes more is more ladies. This is an example of it so take note. The structure and modern prints of these garments make up for the lack of skin shown. Add some classic structured accessories, a bold red lip, and you’re unstoppable while keeping your dignity intact. These garments are perfect for work, happy hour, church, back of vans, front of vans, strip clubs, farms, casinos, etc. The great thing is that they’re affordable, if you know where to go. I recommend you to make vintage shops your first stop in this shopping adventure. These are the best places to find actual stuff from the fifties. If your search for vintage takes you to a dead end, here are some great options (garment info is BELOW each picture):

Yeah, Burberry Prorsum was one of my favorites from SS 2012. I can see myself wearing B.P. from head to toe everyday. F/W 2012 was also quite flawless.
