If you were expecting a Valentine’s Day inspired playlist today, you’re effed. Okay, I might do one tomorrow but I’m 1,000% sure that I will NOT have Whitney Houston on it. Don’t you just hate it when people act like they listen to and/or practically know someone because they’re dead. I didn’t know Whitney had SO many fans and people that still listened to her songs in an almost religious frequency. I can assure you that most of the people talking and sharing songs or pics didn’t have one WH song on their iPod before Saturday. Now they have playlists dedicated to her. It’s pathetic and sad. It’s Michael Jackson all over again. People are already predicting that Hot Topics will get on the RIP WH wagon and sell merch. I believe them. Feel free to post pics showing this on my twitter or Facebook page if it does happen.

In lighter news, this week’s music Monday video is from New Zealand gal Ladyhawke, who’s finally releasing her second solo album this year. Don’t know who she is? It’s okay, you don’t have to feel embarrassed. It’s good to learn something new every day.

I love Ladyhawke! She was the soundtrack of my life for most of ’09. It was a good year, one for the books *chuckles*. My down under music fantasy right now would be a world tour where Ladyhawke would open for Cut Copy. If you agree give me an orgasmic “oh yeah”!

So this is the video for her new single “Black White and Blue” from the album “Anxiety” out on March 19. Enjoy!
