Lazy Oaf for Nasty Gal

After much hype, Nasty Gal finally released the product of their collaboration with Lazy Oaf, the bold London-based fashion label. It’s a playful repertoire full of color and variety. Do you like florals? Great! There’s something for you. How about watermelons? There’s something for you too! How about rainbows, scribbles, fruits, spots, and sticker-like prints? Check, check, check, check, and check!

Although I like the collection, I was expecting more from this collaboration. Maybe some swimsuits, mini printed caftans, black and white dot-print mini shift dresses, etc. From the look-book it seems that more pieces will be released so stay tuned! The black and white scribble prints seem to be the more subtle, adult-like from the bunch but their silhouettes are attractive to the clearly targeted early twenty-somethings and teens that will gobble this up – IF they can afford the $100 dresses and $80-something shorts. Personally, the only piece I see myself wearing is the watermelon crop top, the flower power dress (that would have looked AMAZING in white, mint, or turquoise), and maybe – MAYYYBEEE – the flower patch crop top. Everything else is too loud for my taste, and my taste is pretty loud, just not tight and not too sexy.
