Esta semana santa decidí aventurarme con mi hermano para mi playa favorita: Playa Sucia. No se dejen llevar por el nombre porque sucia no es (a menos que haya una cantidad considerable de estudiantes universitarios pastoreando por el área, dejando latas, vasos y botellas de ron). Es una playa que yo considero única en la isla. Queda localizada en un área protegida por el departamento de recursos naturales de Puerto Rico. Cerca de la playa se encuentra el faro Los Morillos, las Salinas y el refugio de Vida Silvestre. A pesar de haber tantas atracciones turísticas es un poco difícil llegar ya que la ruta no está completamente pavimentada pero el camino es una de las cosas que más me gusta ya que la obligación de guiar a 5 MPH o menos te obliga a apreciar el panorama. Se pueden apreciar el contraste de áreas verdes desérticas (cactus incluido) y áreas “muertas” con árboles secos sin hojas, sin nada (mi hipótesis a esto es que el terreno en donde están los arboles está sobresaturado de sal y otros nutrientes). Parece una escena de lo que ocurre después de la erupción de un volcán o la explosión de una bomba nuclear. Es algo asombrosamente hermoso y curioso. Al llegar a la playa te das cuenta que el viaje valió la pena.

Como ya la temporada de playa llegó (aquí en Puerto Rico nunca se fue, pero en otros lugares no ha llegado), más abajo te presento tres ideas para looks de trajes de baño para verano. Espero que te inspiren.

This “holy week” I decided to go on an adventure with my brother to my favorite beach: Playa Sucia (dirty beach). Don’t let the name fool you because it’s not dirty (Unless there’s a considerable quantity of college students grazing the area, leaving beer cans, cups and rum bottles along their path). It’s a beach that I find to be very unique and absolutely beautiful. It’s located in an area protected by the department of natural resources of Puerto Rico. Near the beach there’s Los Morillos’ lighthouse, the salt flats, and the wildlife refuge. Despite having so many tourist attractions getting there is a challenge. The road isn’t entirely paved and the potholes are huge but this is one of my favorite things about it because at 5 MPH you’re obligated to enjoy the amazing scenery. What gets my attention the most is the contrast between the green desert like (cacti included) areas and the dead zones with dry, leafless trees (My hypothesis about this is that the soil is oversaturated by salt and other nutrients). It looks like a scene about the aftermath of a volcanic eruption or the explosion of a nuclear bomb. It’s breathtakingly beautiful. And when you finally get to the beach you realize that the trip is so worth it.
