Ripped Denim and Lace Together Make Everything Better

I can’t believe I did it. I’ve been blogging for almost two years and I’ve never done an outfit post. Shocker! Since the blog has been growing I decided that it was finally time to jump on the outfit post bandwagon. Still, I decided to chop my head off so you can focus on the outfit and not my face or hair. In reality I’ve been having bad hair days due to my lack of effort in brushing my hair while it’s curly. I’ve been brainstorming on this outfit since Saturday. It was a rainy Saturday and I decided to wear my ripped boyfriend jeans with my leopard print rain boots. I looked like a hobo so I thought “how can I make this pair of jeans look less boyfriend and more girlfriend-ish?”. Make everything else feminine of course. Enter lace cropped top, denim bandeau, supah dupah platforms, and bold print clutch. BTW I would also like to say that it’s a coincidence that I’ve created a ripped denim related post the same week that other bloggers have written about it. As I wrote before, I’ve had this in mind since Saturday afternoon. Don’t hate.

Top: vintage from Ouna’s Closet; Bandeau: Hurley; Belt: Loft, Pants: Bullhead; Clutch: Christian Siriano for Payless; Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

See! It is possible! It looks good enough to wear during the day or to go out during the night. If I keep making these type of posts, this will be the background setting for most of them. Think “Children of the Corn” minus the corn and the children.

I really wanted you to see the back, not to show you my butt, but because of the buttons in the back. It’s my favorite thing about this gorgeous and delicate top. My brother (who also took these photos) buttoned up the top for me.

I’ve been having a crush on this clutch since I bought it more than a year ago. It’s Christian Siriano… for Payless. And I got it for free thanks to the combo play of text message discounts and the famous BOGO. The bird ring and the wooden bracelet are from Valija Gitana. In case you were wondering, the nail polish is “MILF” from Illamasqua.

Perforated wedges that go well with the perforated bag post from a few weeks ago, right? These babies are the Jeffrey Campbell Skyrooms. Why the name you ask, look out below.

Don’t let them scare you. They’re quite comfortable and easy to walk in. The only problem is putting them on and having to watch out for uneven pavement just like the one above. I am SUCH a daredevil! I’m wearing “Orgasm” from NARS on my toenails.

Everything worn here is quite old (I’ve written about this top before). That’s why I have no specific links for you. I haven’t purchased much this year because I want to squeeze the juice out of my closet (and I’m also still broke, thanks for nothing boss).

So what do you think? Should I continue with outfit posts or give them the ax? Sound off below!

Till the next post guys!! Take care.

  1. as a reader of my personal blog, you already know i am obsessed with the shoes. i thought about purchasing them myself, actually but didn’t know if i would walk okay in them – i should have known that jeffrey would never disappoint! super cute outfit, i love how you can subtly see your bandeau through the top, and the buttons are oh so sweet! xoxo

    • LOL thanks. If you really like rings and want to wear them more often start wearing cheaper rings and then work your way up as you get used to wearing them. I love rings and started to wear them about a year ago but I’m still not completely used to them. Thanks for commenting.
